Cumberland Welding and Fabrication LLC Cumberland Welding and Fabrication LLC Springfield, TN Springfield, TN Full-time Full-time $90,000 - $140,000 a year $90,000 - $140,000 a year Duties - Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including developing a takeoff of all material and labor required for the project.
This takeoff will be combined with the outside vendor pricing to produce a complete project cost estimate - Review project plans, work with deadlines, specifications, and other documents to determine the scope of work and materials required - Analyze project costs, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor expenses.
Research and evaluate vendor and subcontractor bids to ensure competitive pricing - Prepare bid proposals and negotiate contracts with clients and ensure we are providing a thorough understanding of the project schedule and project specific requirements.
- Monitor project costs throughout the construction process and identify opportunities for cost control Physical Requirement Work will be performed in an indoor office environment.
Position requires long durations committed to independent reading and computation.
Strong concentration skills necessary.
Required Skills - Proven experience in construction estimating or related roles.
With a basic understanding of structural steel fabrication and erection practices including knowledge of structural shapes and general industry terminology - Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and methods - Excellent mathematical and analytical skills - Strong attention to detail and accuracy - Ability to read and interpret project plans, specifications, and other technical documents - Ability to negotiate contracts and manage client expectations -Strong verbal and written communication skills -Must have software knowledge such as Adobe Acrobat, Bluebeam, Tekla, Excell and word.
